Gov. Heineman Signs Emergency Declaration
Following Southeast Nebraska Storms

(Lincoln, Neb.) Earlier this week, Gov. Dave Heineman signed an emergency declaration for southeast Nebraska following storms that hit the area last week.

The declaration allows state officials to help with damage assessments resulting from a tornado, high winds and some flooding on Friday, April 25.

Officials with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency have been in communities in Gage, Johnson, Nemaha, and Pawnee Counties and will work with local officials in the coming days to compile damage estimates.
